Getting there:
Most people travel to Salt Spring by BC Ferries. Arriving from Vancouver Island is made easy with two short ferry options – Swartz Bay to Fulford Harbour and Crofton to Vesuvius Bay. These short trips are on a first-come-first-serve basis both coming to and leaving Salt Spring Island. When travelling from the Lower Mainland by ferry, the voyage offers awe-inspiring scenery as the ferry winds between the Southern Gulf Islands either stopping at up to three islands or travelling directly to Long Harbour from Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal – during peak season reservations are highly recommended on this route. If arriving at Vancouver International Airport, Translink (Vancouver Transit) easily connects YVR to Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal. Similarly, Victoria International Airport is a quick 15 minute taxi ride to Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal.
There are also seaplanes through Harbor Air that fly from Vancouver Airport.
There is also a tax service on the island,
